Homemade Paleo Trail Mix

This Homemade Paleo Trail Mix is an easy yet delicious snack that is loved by both kids and adults. It takes only 5 minutes to prepare and makes enough for 20 servings! This recipe is gluten free, grain free, dairy free & refined sugar free.

When I think of trail mix, I think of summer vacations growing up as a kid. My mom would always make a big batch of homemade trail mix for the long car ride to the beach. This Homemade Paleo Trail Mix recipe swaps some ingredients that my mom used to make a gluten free, grain free, dairy free and Paleo friendly version. It’s still a delicious snack that is sweet, slightly salty and so satisfying!

Ingredients

  • Sunflower seeds
  • Dried strawberries and bananas (Karen’s Naturals is my favorite brand)
  • Cashews
  • Raisins
  • Walnuts
  • Almonds
  • Hu Kitchen Gems (or any other dairy free chocolate)

Are Nuts Gluten Free?

To those of you who follow a strict gluten free diet, nuts are one of those ingredients that can be tricky. They are naturally gluten free yet many of the brands produce their nuts in facilities that also process wheat. As a result, there is a risk of cross contamination. So, make sure you read the label thoroughly and do more research if you still aren’t sure!

How to Store Trail Mix

I will mix all the ingredients in a large bowl to make sure that everything is thoroughly combined. Then I transfer it to an air tight container and keep it in my pantry. I use the Snapware container and love it for storing my trail mix.

How to Make this Easy Homemade Trail Mix

I don’t think there is an easier recipe than this Homemade Paleo Trail Mix. All you need to do is add the sunflower seeds, dried strawberries and bananas, cashews, raisins, walnuts, almonds and chocolate gems to a large bowl and mix together until everything is combined. Then transfer it to an air tight container and store it in the pantry! This should give you about 20 servings based off of a 1/3 cup serving size.

This easy Homemade Paleo Trail Mix is a pantry staple at my house. It’s perfect for snacks at home, packing it for work lunches, or any kind of traveling. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family does!
